WATER THERAPY
Cold Plunge and Water Therapy in El Poblado, Medellín
We have a cold plunge, a hot mineral bath, and a contrast circuit that moves between the two. Water therapy is the fastest way to reset after training or a long day, and the contrast circuit is what most people come back for.
Sessions run 10 to 30 minutes and can be added to any massage.
Cold plunge: 50,000 COP for 10 minutes
Hot mineral bath: 80,000 COP for 20 minutes
Contrast therapy: 110,000 COP for 30 minutes
What water treatments do you offer?
Three.
The cold plunge runs between 10 and 12 degrees Celsius for ten minutes. The mineral bath runs between 37 and 40 degrees for twenty. Contrast therapy cycles between the two three times across thirty minutes, with our staff handling the timing.
Should you go hot or cold?
Cold makes you alert. Heat makes you relaxed.
If you want to feel awake and sharp for the rest of the day, book the plunge. If you want to unwind and sleep well, book the mineral bath. If you are recovering from something physical, book contrast, which does more than either alone.
How does water therapy help recovery?
Cold constricts blood vessels and raises your heart rate. Heat opens them and relaxes muscle tissue. Alternating between the two moves blood through your muscles more actively than resting does.
That is why contrast therapy is the strongest of the three for recovery, and why the plunge on its own is better for alertness than for soreness.
Should water therapy go before or after a massage?
Either works.
Heat before a massage warms the tissue and makes deeper pressure more comfortable, which matters if you are booking deep tissue. Cold after a massage extends the recovery effect and leaves you more awake when you leave.
If you want both in one visit, tell us at booking so we can prepare the water in the right order.
How long are water therapy sessions?
Ten minutes in the plunge, twenty in the mineral bath, thirty for the contrast circuit. Those are our standard lengths and they are enough for most people.
If it is your first cold plunge, get in slowly and focus on breathing steadily rather than holding your breath. You can step out early and get back in.
Who should avoid water therapy?
Neither extreme is right for everyone. If you have a heart condition, high or low blood pressure, or are pregnant, talk to your doctor before booking. Tell us about any medical conditions when you arrive so our staff can advise you.
