RECOVERY & REJUVENATION
Recovery Treatments in El Poblado, Medellín
Recovery treatments work on circulation and inflammation rather than muscle tension. They are passive, they require nothing from you, and they pair well with a massage or stand on their own.
Compression boots and oxygen therapy can be booked separately or run together in one session.
Compression boots: 80,000 COP for 30 minutes, 140,000 for 60
Oxygen therapy: 80,000 COP for 30 minutes, 140,000 for 60
Both together: 120,000 COP for 30 minutes, 200,000 for 60
What are recovery treatments?
Treatments that move blood and fluid rather than working the muscle directly. Compression boots use rhythmic air pressure to push fluid out of the legs. Oxygen therapy delivers concentrated oxygen while you rest.
Neither requires you to do anything. You lie back and the treatment runs.
How is recovery different from a massage?
A massage releases tension in the tissue. Recovery moves what the massage released.
That is why they work well in sequence rather than as alternatives. If your muscles are tight, book a massage. If your legs are heavy and swollen, book compression. If both, book both, with the massage first.
Which recovery treatment should you book?
Compression boots if the problem is in your legs. Swollen ankles after a flight, heavy legs after training, or the general fatigue of a day spent standing.
Oxygen therapy if the fatigue is general rather than local. Visitors arriving from sea level often book it in their first week, since Medellín sits at roughly 1,500 metres.
If you are not sure, book both together. It is the most common way our guests book recovery.
When should you book recovery?
After training rather than before, and any time after a long flight. There is no recovery cost to either treatment, so frequency is a matter of preference rather than necessity.
Some guests come weekly during heavy training blocks. Others book once after arriving in Medellín and never again.
How long should a recovery session be?
Thirty minutes covers most needs. Sixty is worth it if your legs are badly fatigued or if you are running both treatments together and want each to go the full length.
Who should avoid recovery treatments?
If you have a blood clotting disorder, deep vein thrombosis, open wounds on your legs, or are pregnant, talk to your doctor before booking compression. If you have a respiratory or heart condition, do the same before booking oxygen therapy. Tell us about any medical conditions when you arrive.
